From the picturesque views of the Smoky Mountains, to the unending supply of great family entertainment it is easy to see why the Smokies are so popular.
Beautiful Smoky Mountain Sunset
My wife and I really enjoy it in the Smokies and all the towns that surround the National Park.
That is why this site was created, to provide a resource for those considering a visit to this wonderful part of Gods creation.
Our experiences here have been so great we would like to share them with you through this site.
That you too will be able to create lifelong memories as we have in this wonderful place.
There is a magic here a particular draw, it's truly a Picasso of God's art work.
This part of the Appalachian Mountains known as The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is amazing.
I have been in love with it from the first time I laid eyes on it.
You could call it an obsession, it's where I always want to be and it's always what I'm thinking about.
The peace & solitude of the mountains are always close, I can just sit and stare at it's beauty for hours.
If you combine the beauty of the area with the attractions of the great towns nestled right in the middle of it all, you have a recipe for a wonderful family vacation, the perfect honeymoon, or some awesome "me time".
These are the the three towns closest to the three main entrances into the park, in order of traffic volume per entrance.
Gatlinburg TN
Cherokee North Carolina
Townsend Tennessee
Close to seventy five percent of the parks visitors use these entrances and rightly so because each lead to some of the most popular attractions in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
And here are some other great towns worth checking out, all of which are within a stones throw of the GSMP.
This map shows the major towns around the Smokey Mountain National Park. The red push pins are the towns with the three main entrances to the park.
The green markers are towns with park entrances with lower traffic volume. Wears Valley & Cosby Tennessee both tie into other roads in the park.
The Deep Creek entrance at Bryson City North Carolina is one way in and one way out. The blue markers have no park entrances for vehicles.
Gatlinburg TN with the Ripley's Gatlinburg Aquarium and the Ober Gatlinburg ski resort all coupled with a vast array of shopping and dining makes this town a very popular destination.
Pigeon Forge Tennessee is home to of some great theaters and all the family fun one could imagine.
Pigeon Forge is also synonymous with the Dollywood theme park. Second only to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in visits per year of any Tennessee attractions.
Townsend TN which is touted as "the peaceful side of the Smokies" and that it truly is, a very peaceful and enjoyable place to be.
It's just a short drive to the ever popular Cades Cove inside the park. You can also enjoy tubing or Trout fishing along the Little River that runs through Townsend.
Are you planning a day trip to the National Park, or an extended stay at one of the beautiful Cabins in Gatlinburg?
Have you found that special someone and a romantic Smoky Mountain Wedding would be prefect for you?
If so the Wedding Chapels In Gatlinburg can accommodate you nicely.
If you're planning an all inclusive family vacation I can say that we have had some great times on Pigeon Forge Vacations and Gatlinburg Vacations.
We really enjoy the atmosphere of these beautiful vacation towns, but we also enjoy camping in the Smoky Mountains.
If you enjoy being out in and amongst nature it's all here whatever your preference may be, from RV camping to back-country camping deep in the park.
The bottom line is no matter what your personal tastes may be, the Smokey Mountains offer everything you need to create the experience you desire.
It is our prayer that this site will help you plan your trip to this great place....God Bless
